Airbnb hosting is hard. It takes time, work, dedication, and quite a bit of multi-tasking. It is also a blast! It’s fun, exciting, and fulfilling. Unfortunately some of us live for both of these things and have a tendency to try and do more than we can handle.

Are you in that boat? I certainly am.

So, how do we pace ourselves in the busy world of Airbnb hosting? While thinking about this question I came across this great article on Hostess Meets World.

She gives several suggestions including blocking out time to rest, not chasing the Superhost status, and keeping to the house rules you set.

For me, not chasing Superhost status was huge. I would let any critique on my property wear me down. When I lost my Superhost status the first time I was devastated. I thought my Airbnb hosting career and income would plummet. But guess what? It didn’t! Not at all! I am still booked MORE than I want (I aim for 80-85% at top prices, but usually get 90%). Don’t let these little things stress you. Remember to find the joy in hosting!

Overall it’s about keeping Airbnb hosting in the right perspective.

This is something that is supposed to enhance your life, not drain it. And let’s not forget who the owner of the Airbnb is: you! It doesn’t exist without you, so if you want it to live, you need to set rules for you to live too.

Again, a great article for anyone who is feeling a little overwhelmed with their hosting responsibilities! Hope it helps!

Have a great week!
